The Six Nations will once again see the England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales international rugby union teams take on each other over the course of five thrilling rugby-packed weekends of fixtures. This is an international competition that takes place annually, with each of the six sides playing each other once.

The 2022 fixture schedule for the Guinness Six Nations begins on Saturday, 5th February 2022 with Ireland getting the first match underway against defending champions Wales followed by Scotland hosting England at BT Murrayfield; then on Sunday 6th February 2022 France host Italy at the Stade de France in Paris.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 2021 GUINNESS SIX NATIONS?

Wales claimed their first Six Nations title of the Wayne Pivac era, with four wins from five helping them finish top of the standings. Victories over Ireland, Scotland, England and Italy put Wales on the cusp of securing their second Grand Slam in three years but a dramatic defeat to France on Super Saturday ended their bid for the clean sweep. That result kept the title race alive for another week after Scotland’s Round 3 clash with France was rearranged for the following Friday. Les Bleus needed a bonus point and a winning margin of 21 points but their title hopes were dashed by Gregor Townsend’s men, who secured their first win in Paris since 1999. Ireland finished third in the table, ahead of Scotland, England and Italy.
